r/spicy had a question come up regarding Melinda’s and Tabasco Scorpion Sauce. “Has anyone tried both?” … I said yes and said both good, tabasco hotter. But is it? I read comments on flavors people describe in any particular sauce. Figured I should compare. Took a drop of each on separate spoons and tasted with a clear palette (as clear as mine gets). Mostly a fail as I couldn’t taste individual ingredients. Except vinegar, which Melinda’s had more, or a least more tangy. Melinda’s is also slightly hotter. My tastes are not well educated. Both still good and as you can see get equal play here. Anyone else do a H2H compare?

Melinda’s is hotter, but Tabasco can feel hotter due to the sweetness (same thing happens with mango habanero sauces).
I like Melinda’s more, but the Tabasco is a great option. It’s especially sneaky because nobody expects Tabasco to deliver a sauce they’ll find hot.
Melinda is better for heat. Tabasco tastes better. Some people dislike the pineapple and guava added to the Tabasco one though. I personally avoid Melinda’s because of their history screwing over Marie Sharp, but you can make your own decisions https://www.reddit.com/r/hotsauce/s/1b0XD1itpY
Melinda’s has more scorpion, Tabasco has more fruity yum yums
I like the Tabasco a bit more, but I do have both on the shelf and in regular rotation. I like the added fruity notes, but sometimes prefer more of the chile’s character
I find Melinda’s Scorpion to be no hotter the their Ghost. The Tabasco Scorpion is way hotter than the Melinda’s, to me anyway.
Melindas has more flavor to go with the heat
Oooooh, I didn’t even know Melinda’s had a scorpion sauce 😋
Melinda for chicken wings, Tabasco for clam chowder
Melinda’s, Tabasco puts sugar in this sauce which is a no go for me.
Melinda’s for sure, although I was pleasantly surprised by Tabasco.
I love both
Both are good. Tabasco is more fruity tho
Call me Mr. T, because I pity the fool who prefers M. 💀
These are very different sauces to me
