I was running a retreat center in Washington state and found turkey at .01 cents a pound delivered once lol I had 2 chest freezers full of apple and grape harvest and another two full of turkeys to start off guest season
Food cost was hella good that season

Storage aside, getting lucky with cheap meat can be a life saver. Once we were getting a bag of frozen chicken cutlets, and the butcher stops us and says they haver a whole pallet of the same cuts that got shipped in a bag labeled as another cut and needs them gone, so they were like a buck and a half per bag. Nothing wrong with the meat, but the entire bag was marked with info of a different product so it couldn’t be sold regularly.

I’m guessing someone in charge of ordering turkeys is gonna be in trouble lol

I hope this guy either buys another deep freeze or has a huge family. Otherwise there is no way he goes through a dryer full of turkeys before spring and I dont want to think about what happens to a dryer full of turkeys on a nice balmy spring morning.
