UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Construction has begun on Campus Dining’s latest location, Amici Italian Market, in South Food District.

Amici Italian Market will be constructed in the space previously occupied by Piatto Felice and Urban Garden, which closed on Nov. 14. Amici will feature pastas with specialty sauces, house-made meatballs, lemon rosemary chicken, pinsa sandwich, roman-style pizza and a salad/antipasto bar. Some of the baked items available will be Penn State Bakery focaccia bread and featured cookies, like vanilla-glazed Italian cookies and tiramisu cookies. Amici will also sell various supplies and products for cooking at home.

“We are very excited for Amici Italian Market to open early next year,” said Amy Bressler, director of Residential Dining. “The combination of excellent Italian cuisine and do-it-yourself options will be a unique addition to Residential Dining’s offerings.”

Amici is scheduled to open in January 2026.
