“Your support of the annual Christmas dinner helps us provide a warm and festive meal for many families this Christmas season,” a news release said. “Any donations above and beyond the cost of the dinner will be donated to local non-profits in the Park Rapids area.”
Donations may be sent to the Community Christmas Dinner Fund, American Legion Post 212, P.O. Box 143, Park Rapids, MN 56470.
“The dinner was started by the Bob Kriss family, who owned the Great Northern restaurant, and has continued going strong by wonderful volunteers,” the news release states. “Last year, we served roughly 800 guests via pick-up, dine-in or delivery from the Park Rapids area on Christmas Day. We truly wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope that the New Year will bring peace and good health to all!”
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
