JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — Multiple Johnson City area hotels have joined forces with Visit Johnson City for the annual Hotels with Hearts campaign, with this year focusing on food insecurity.

Traditionally, the campaign collected winter clothing, but organizers recognized a pressing need to address food insecurity in the community.

“We have traditionally done the winter coats, hats, scarves, gloves, the traditional winter drive, if you will,” Tosha Yoder with Visit Johnson City said. “However, we recognized that there is a food insecurity in our area, and we really want to help boost Second Harvest Food Bank and our area as much as possible.”

The food collection will continue through Dec. 15, with donations presented to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee on Dec. 17.

Here is the list of participating locations: Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites, the Carnegie Hotel, DoubleTree, Holiday Inn properties, Home2 Suites, Hampton Inn, Sleep Inn & Suites, Quality Inn Boones Creek, and the Johnson City Visitor Center.
