By the glass at Noble Rot Mayfair in London.

Poured from a Coravin, wine still feels fresh. No VA, no brett.

Lots of stewed fruit, dried herbs, leather, mushroom notes but brighter and fresher than I would have expected. Slight floral notes as well.

This is a treat and still drinking nicely!

Not just any wine, but a Colares Ramisco!

Also, see u/LillHagelin – double L on this Viuva Gomes bottle as well.

  2. I can’t stress how amazing Noble Rot is! I recommend it to all my friends that go to London.

Yep. These wines age forever. 1934 is still going strong.

Older than Portuguese democracy itself – how cool!

Thanks for the notes. I actually have this exact bottle in my cellar. I had been thinking it might be past its prime and had more or less decided to keep it as an artifact, but now I’ll have to reconsider if and when to open it!

Another Colares! I swear someone just posted a 1969 Colares the other day. Never tried one myself but it’s on my bucket list, my local shop has a 1969 that’s been stored properly at a good price and I’m thinking of snagging it. Such cool wines.

I tried a Collares Genuino Branco at a private tasting in Porto this past October. Definitely a unique wine.
