I bought a pre sectioned piece of tuna and salmon at H Mart. 5 rolls later and half the fish later my wife and I are so full.

I severely underestimated how many rolls these pieces could make. This is so much cheaper (and better) than ordering out, I’d if I can go back

You did well! I normally make 3 or 4 rolls to share between me and my husband. If I have too much fish, I will slice it for sashimi.

It costs me $15NZ for a piece of salmon that make 4 rolls plus a plate of sashimi. Plus rice, avocado, nori, wasabi and soy sauce, we could bring that up to $20NZ. If I were to buy 4 rolls and a serve of sashimi, that would cost around $60 to $70NZ. It is really worthwhile making my own sushi! I still go out for fancier options and for more variety though.

Every time I eat sushi, I grossly overestimate the size of my stomach.

Tips, you want to put a but more rice on the edges, so when you roll it, the ends become nice too.

All of these comments are making me realize I am very much outside of the normal range for sushi I can eat. That being said these look great, especially for your first attempt.
