The Italian wine trade descends on London in January 2026 to showcase emerging winemaking trends and exciting products for the new business year.

The 2026 edition of Borsa Vini London, organised by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), will be held at IET Savoy on 21 January, offering an unparalleled opportunity to connect with 43 producers from across Italy, most of which are new to the UK market.
A host of illuminating masterclasses will also bring guests up to date with the latest trends in Italian wine, with themes for 2026 including innovation, sustainability and market evolution. In its last edition, Borsa Vini welcomed about 200 visitors keen to explore the evolving world of Italian wine. In fact, the event has become a firm fixture on the UK calendar, providing a significant opportunity for distributors, importers and trade professionals in the UK who are interested in adding high-quality Italian wines to their portfolio.
The presence of Italian wine producers actively seeking distribution partnerships underscores the event’s importance as a platform for connecting Italian producers with potential distribution channels in the UK. Those in the restaurant and hospitality industry, including sommeliers and restaurant owners, can use the event to source exceptional Italian wines to enhance their wine lists and offerings.
Speaking to the drinks business, Giovanni Sacchi, director of the ITA’s UK office, says 2025 has been a year in which “British consumers have continued to refine their drinking habits, embracing quality over quantity. Within this changing landscape, Italian wines have continued to shine, confirming Italy as one of the UK’s leading suppliers both in volume and value”.
According to Sacchi: “Italy’s diversity and craftsmanship, from elegant Prosecco and crisp rosés to the great red wines of Tuscany and Piedmont, continue to inspire the British palate.”
Fine wine surge
He further notes that 67 Pall Mall’s Fine Wines Club recorded a surge in appreciation for Italian wines among its members, with a 37.5% increase in consumption compared to a decade ago. The club anticipates a further 35% rise in purchases over the next 10 years.
“Regions such as Sicily, Tuscany and Piedmont are now among the most sought-after sources of fine wines in London’s most discerning circles,” Sacchi adds – evidence of the enduring love affair between British consumers and Italian culture.
Against this backdrop, Borsa Vini 2026 will arrive again in London as a must-attend event for trade professionals and journalists. This exclusive showcase will bring together Italy’s most distinguished wineries, offering the UK market a direct connection to the people, regions and traditions behind each label.
From north to south, visitors will experience the full mosaic of Italy, from iconic DOCG wines to artisanal specialities.
“Borsa Vini 2026 is the premier occasion to engage in meaningful conversations, discover Italy’s dynamic wine landscape and shape the outlook of the new business year,” says Sacchi. “It is a unique opportunity not only to deepen existing connections, but to explore fresh business prospects — expanding portfolios with emerging appellations, innovative trends and Italy’s living wine heritage.”
