Is anyone in this sub familiar with steak 48? I believe there’s only 5 locations. I’m a regular at the San Diego location and have never been let down and have yet to have a better steak. Although the steak is $90+ it’s very well worth it.

I’ve been to the San Diego location as well. Absolutely blown away everytime. Whenever I have enough money I go. Never disappointed

Yess we have one in Chicago and it’s severely underrated. I’ve been 5-6 times and it’s consistently incredible. Great service and dry aged steak!

Been to the one in Houston a handful of times. Always a fantastic time, love those hasselback potatoes and the creamed corn brulee.

It’s Steak 44 here in Phoenix because its off 44th street. I am a regular – I actually just text my regular server when I want a reservation so I’m seated in his section. Never once have I been let down. Just brought by brothers-in-law last Wednesday, they were both blown away.

Idk what american normal prices are, but that´s a lot of money no? I can get 1 kilo of my favourite steak for 80 euro´s at a butchery.
Or 50 for a prepared steak at a restaurant.

And my favourite is in the higher price category, if i look at cheaper fancy steaks max price is around 45 in a restaurant or €60/kg in a butchery

Steak 48 in Chicago was my fiance and my go to celebration dinner spot before we moved out. Absolutely loved it. Probably went a half dozen times. Had a weird server there once, though.

Come up the coast, the original Hitching Post in Casmalia is great!

Been to the one in the Galleria many times and have always had a great experience

  14. Weird, I was underwhelmed by Steak 48, but everyone seems to rave about it. It just felt like a typical overpriced chain steakhouse to me.

Give Rare Society a shot. It’s been my favorite steakhouse in SD for a while now.

That does look good! I’ve got one near me so I’ll have to give them a try one day.

Went to the one in philly for my anny and it was fantastic. Their evening special was a “butcher’s cut”, which when I asked what that meant, the server said “its the cut the butcher keeps for himself”. I ordered it medium rare and it was the most delicious steak Ive ever had. Melted in my mouth. My wife had the petite filet, which I tried for comparisons sake and it was like a shoe compared to what I had. Her’s was still excellent, but compared to mine, it was night and day. The smoked old fashions and seafood tower was also excellent 👌🏻

If you can afford to live in SD and buy $90 steaks you gotta be livin the good life

That’s only because you haven’t been to Steak 69

Damn usually Steak subreddit is full of snobs for restaurant steaks, especially without a money shot. Astroturf? (Mostly /s but not really considering the amt of engagement this one post is getting)

Fwiw, prolly one of the best steakhouses ive been to in Houston.

Worked for 48 for quite some time. Talk about selling your fucking soul for a paycheck. Foods good company sucks from the ground up.

  21. skyblxzer

Yup. Had Steak 48 in Beverly Hills for my bday dinner. Racked up a $500 bill but it was one of my favorite meals ever. Steak is delicious and apps/ sides are yummy

I swear every steakhouse with a number in the name is somehow always the most banging steak possible ime

  23. ObviNotAGolfer

Love steak 48. Doesn’t have the name of some of the other big places but definetly deserves it

  24. CriticalBoost

Love Steak 48! I’m hosting our team dinner there this weekend in Houston. They have some fantastic steaks but their sides are even better! Also each martini comes with a pretty full sidecar.

The Corn Creme Brulé is to DIE for here as well. This is one of the restaurants that is on the ‘celebration list’ in town for the wife and I. Funny enough, ill be in PHX for work this week and will be hitting Steak 44 up. Can’t wait!

  27. This_Woosel

I fucking love this place in Chicago – a buddy of mine took me here for my birthday.

We of course got the steaks but also got chicken fried lobster and creamed corn crème brûlée. It was absolutely amazing. 11/10 would go again.

  28. KVthegreatest

Yeah, there is one here in Houston. It’s in my top 5.

  29. african_goodtime

I won $200 on the derby last year and took my wife to the one in Charlotte with the winnings. Top 5 steakhouses I’ve ever been to

  30. gingerblz

Went to the Chicago location. Crazy expensive but VERY good.

  31. The in Houston is solid, but we have papa bros steakhouse so I hardly ever go to 48
