Slow Living with Shnasse 🌿
As we enter December, I’m here to share a productive and calm day spent in my warm and peaceful home on a cloudy winter day.
This vlog is shaped by the philosophy of slow living, simple living, and finding joy in simple things, reflecting the gentle spirit of slow living in the city.
In today’s kitchen moments, I prepared homemade lentil bread, filling the house with the comforting aroma of warm, nourishing food.
During the quiet morning hours, I made a vegetable omelet, and later in the day I wrapped yaprak sarma, one of the most heartwarming traditional dishes that brings warmth to winter days.
Within my daily homemaker routine, I continued the small tasks that bring order and peace to my home—tidying the kitchen, refreshing the spaces, and moving gently through the flow of the day.
This soft rhythm is one of the sweetest parts of embracing city slow life.
During the cozy hours of the day, the gentle coolness of winter and warm, heartfelt conversations filled the atmosphere.
While sipping my tea, I talked about memories, the past, and the small beauties of life that warm the heart.
Every corner of my home carries the tender feeling of natural living, simple joys, and the quiet serenity of the winter season.
These warm kitchen moments and the comfort of homemade food became a peaceful reflection of the heart of my home—nurturing, simple, and rooted in the beauty of everyday living.
If you enjoy cozy vlog moments,

Hello, I am Şehnaz. I send my love and greetings to all of you. I’m home alone this week; My children and
my husband went to Mersin to see my mother. I stayed at home to look after Miço. People get so used to being with their loved
ones that their absence is felt very intensely. By the way, there are translations for every
language; Please check your language settings. Today I will make lentil bread. I soaked 350 grams of
lentils in water the day before. In the morning, I eat a spoon of this mixture consisting
of honey, propolis, black cumin, ginger and royal jelly. This mixture is very important for
breathing and clearing the lungs. I brewed rosemary tea for breakfast. As time passes quickly, it is very important to
take care of ourselves and live a healthy age. I will make an omelet with
vegetables and cheddar cheese. For this I used two eggs, milk,
parsley, green onion and spices. When I was a child, our house
was a house with a large garden. My father had built a small chicken
coop in the corner of the garden. In the mornings, I would collect warm eggs and prepare breakfast for my parents. It would give me great pleasure to wake up before my family and prepare breakfast for them with my own hands. When it comes to family, we mothers never get tired. God has blessed us in every aspect and equipped us with love for humanity. May He give us the wisdom and spiritual wealth to understand this. I washed the pillow covers.
When there was no one at home, I washed everything easily. Today I came to you with a healthy and natural bread recipe. But first, let’s turn on our nostalgia lamp;
May our bond with the past be strengthened. 350 g lentils, 2 tablespoons of chia seeds, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 5 tablespoons of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and sesame seeds. Oh, let’s not forget the salt. This bread tastes like cornbread and is very filling. Lentil bread;
contains vegetable protein, fiber and omega-3; It is very nutritious thanks to the natural vitamin E support of chia seeds and olive oil. I made the bread in an enamel tray. I had no wax paper left; If you
do, be sure to use wax paper. Greaseproof paper prevents
the bread from sticking to the tray. I will sprinkle plenty
of sesame seeds on it. Let it rest for 10 minutes;
Then I will put it in the oven. Miço misses my daughters
very much; I don’t want him to be sad. I try not to make their absence
felt by playing games with him. The bread will be baked in the
oven at 180°C for 60 minutes. The bread is baked. The bread is quite warm because
it has been baking for an hour. It cooled and I opened the edges
with a spatula; came out easily. I want to slice it and taste it. It was great; I kept coming back to eat it, and it was very filling. The next day at noon, I went into
the kitchen to make stuffed vine leaves. My dear follower Ms. Ayşe sent me some leaves. When I was a child, my mother and I
would collect leaves from our vineyard. My mother would salt
them and put them in cubes. I love stuffed vine leaves and it
takes me back to my childhood. For the stuffing, I used 300 g minced meat, 60 g rice, 60
g bulgur, 1 onion and spices. Tokat leaf is very beautiful. Tokat is a city in Turkey
and the leaf is unique to it. I will wash the leaf and boil it a little. Stuffed vine leaves is an
indispensable part of Turkish cuisine. The leaves were boiled; I will wash it
with cold water and start wrapping it. The house smelled like leaves. I will add tomato paste and knead
it. Miço is waiting for mama 🙂 I took my tea with me. Prof. Dr. I am listening to Oytun Erbaş. He is a valuable teacher for Türkiye and someone
whose ideas I have benefited greatly from. By the way, I’m drinking rosemary tea again 🙂 I wrapped the leaves and will cook them in a pressure cooker. I placed two cups in the pot to prevent the leaves from scattering. I used tomato paste, olive oil and water for the sauce. Salad and tzatziki go very well with the leaves. I also prepare the salad with lettuce, purple cabbage and carrots. I also prepare tzatziki with yoghurt, garlic, mint and chili peppers. I make my own yoghurt at home.
I made a video about this before. I used vinegar and olive oil as dressing for the salad. May there be abundance in your home. Your valuable comments are very important to me.
Please write in the comments where you follow me from. Our leaves were cooked without falling apart 🙂 May abundance and health be in your home. Thank you for being a guest in my home.
