Régalade debuts on Dec. 10
Beverly Grove’s reputation as a hub for global cuisine just got a little stronger.
On Dec. 10, Jocelyn Bulow and Alessandro Iacobelli — the team behind Third Street Italian spot Oste — will open French bistro, Régalade.
“We wanted a place where the classics are honored and where Angelenos have an opportunity to experience a little French charm and soul whenever the mood strikes,” said Bulow. “We wanted to make it approachable, not pretentious. Great food shouldn’t be a luxury, it should be part of everyday life.”

Developed by executive chef James LaLonde, the menu promises a quintissential Parisian bistro experience, enhanced by Southern California’s ingredient seasonality. Francophiles might enjoy rounds oysters with French onion soup, roasted half-chicken, escargot, steak frites with bordelaise sauce or filet mignon with green peppercorn sauce. The seafood selection spans ocean delights and is inclusive of crudos, pan-seared trout with chive beurre blanc and swiss chard and grilled dorade with green chermoula. For a decadent finish, the dessert satisfies with options like chocolate mousse.
Intended to embrace a European joie de vivre, Régalade operates on a walk-in basis, encouraging diners to pop in when they feel inspired by the moment. The zinc-topped oyster bar encourages adventuring through the beverage program inclusive of French spirits, aperitifs, espresso drinks, cocktails and an expansive wine list of affordable labels, lesser-known bottles and a rotating by-the-glass selection. Meanwhile, green leather and velvet banquettes beckon for longer meals around marble tables. The bistro spirit is further certified by amber sconces, wood accents, smoky mirrors and portraits of French artists and cultural figures.
