Does anyone know if it’s normal for the finish to flake off of the cook box after only being used four or five times? I’m not sure if I’m dealing with a problem that is warranty or is a wire brush with some high temp primer and paint – or none of the above it will do no harm. Thank you and any advice is welcome, ridicule and sarcasm is tolerated 😉

When did you buy this grill OP? That definitely shouldn’t be happening after only a few uses. The finish on the cookbox is supposed to be super durable. I’d reach out to Weber support to see how they handle this.
Usually when people post this, it’s a build up of smoke deposits that will start peeling off over time and is normal. More common with smokers. After 4 or 5 cooks, not so sure. I’d recommend googling that issue and see if yours looks the same. I can’t make heads or tails of what I’m looking at in the second image. My comment is only valid if there’s black sooty stuff peeling off the inside of the lid. Anything else and it’s a problem.
