Spent all day getting my dough ready and put in fridge overnight. Took out to bake and she looked beautiful until my dog knocked her down on to the floor. I’d like to recover her if possible but she’s all deflated now. Should I just try to get her to rise again before baking? Gah!!! That damn dog!!😢

    lol!

It’s probably gonna be ok 😀

But just to be sure, show us picture of the dog 😬

Does it appear that your dog ate much – if any – of the dough? If so, your dog may require urgent medical attention. Raw dough can continue to ferment in the dog’s digestive tract, producing carbon dioxide and ethanol alcohol. This can lead to alcohol poisoning or deadly bloat.

Looks like a perfect bite out of the corner😭

One of my shorthairs ate an entire loaf’s worth of raw dough (600g loaf) off the counter and was totally fine minus some diarrhea and the berating he got from me lol.

Welp! For anyone curios. I went ahead and baked it and it didn’t turn out!😭 next time I’m putting the dog out!!

I’m more concerned for your dough. Uncooked dough can be super dangerous.

I’m sorry but I am DYING laughing at that sad loaf.

Bake it anyways. You just added an extra ingredient of dawg into it

sad to hear about your dog being put down.

Just ball it back up and smack that shit in a bowl to ferment more. It will be more tangy from the time and also the floor 😉

My house has three “counter surfing” dogs, and I feel your pain. Everything has to be up very high or in something with a door. And don’t get me started on the “fur baby confetti” that I obsessively check my starter and dough for. I am actually enjoying figuring out this sourdough baking thing and I genuinely love the dogs but if both of those things weren’t true I’d throw in the towel, because 🤪

  15. Oh my, what a good laugh this gave me! My dog used to knock stuff over all the time, or swipe anything on a counter. I did kennel him and it broke the habit. But too funny!
