Love Vidalia, but can’t resist that extra zip of a red onion.

I try to use all varieties I can find for soup, or mixed in bread/pizza base dough. Otherwise I prefer shallots/red with any meat. Yellow with cheese and mayo on bread, or in salads. Spring in and on home made falafel. Pickled silver/yellow in fish spreads.

Red onions!! I still completely love and eat any kind but I just particularly love red onions. I just got a 1.5lb red onion from the store and sliced it up for homemade pickled onions❤️ they taste fantastic and I can’t stop putting them on almost anything savory

All of them. Green onions are a daily part of the menu, but I bounce around between the others and at least one whole onion is also on the menu in some form.

The cheapest onion available unless I’m going fancy, then shallot
Special cases: Green onion – garnish when I feel fancy Red onion – anything with raw onion (guac, salad)
BennySkateboard
Red, with shallots a close second

When I was a kid, there wasn’t as much variety in grocery stores, and my family didn’t have much money, so we only had the white ones. Fast food places only used white ones too. Then a Rally Burger opened up nearby, and they used red onions instead of white, and green leaf lettuce instead of iceberg. It felt like a real treat to eat there. So ever since, I prefer the red ones.
