So a year ago I was fortunate enough to get a reservation at The Pizza Bar on 38th in Tokyo. Ever since then I've been trying to scratch that itch of eating Tokyo style Neopolitan Pizza. I finally made it over to Pizzeria Sei and I have to say that for me atleast is lived up to a lot of its lofty accolades.
1 Margherita Special – more or less their classic Margherita with higher end buffalo mozzarella and organic basil. Really no notes on this. I feel like even the most staunch Italian would eat this in peace.
2 Bismark – A neopolitan Pizza with prosciutto and soft egg. My only issue with this one is that the temp on the prosciutto was so much colder than the temp on the Pizza which threw it off a bit. Splitting hairs though as this was still delicious.
3 Mala Lamb Sausage – A special that they run from time to time. Honestly, if I could make love to a slice of pizza and it would be socially acceptable, it would be this pizza. The depth of flavor and subtle spice made this one of the best things I've had in 2025. The briteness and acidity from the lemon just took it over the edge. It is a tad messy and hard to eat though.
All in all, I know a lot of people think this spot is overrated but I disagree. Probably my #1 Pizza spot in the city. Try to go with friends though since you can only order whole pies.
