Hi all thank you for your suggestions in advance. I was recently digging out some old plants in a vegetable bed and I’ve been finding tons and tons of grubs. I basically dragged the rake through the bed and can pick out 20 or 30 every time. I’m not sure what to do so would appreciate advice on whether to leave them or some sort of soil treatment or just keep digging and picking them out as we go.
Unfortunately, I don’t know anyone with chickens so I’ve been throwing them in a bucket and leave them out for the birds to eat

That’s a lot of Japanese beetle larvae. They eat plant roots, and this many are likely to be a fairly significant issue.
You might look into beneficial nematodes. That’s a lot of grubs.

If you or someone you know likes fishing they make great bait. To get ride of them you can make a natural deterrent using neem oil (2 table spoons on neem oil, 2 table spoons of organic liquid soap, and 1 gallon of water). Or you can use Diatomaceous earth powder.
natures good guys has beneficial nematodes
so these grubs are either moths or beetles, and you got a hatch, they eat eat eat roots and decaying wood, and can ruin your garden
Damn! That’s ALOT. I agree with the beneficial nematodes. You’ve got to have a lot buzzing around during the summer. Look into Japanese Beetle traps as well. Good luck!
