Popular Mediterranean restaurant is giving away free food at its 1st N.J. location

A Mediterranean restaurant chain is bringing its signature dishes to Central New Jersey with a grand opening celebration scheduled for Dec. 11.

Osmow’s will mark its first New Jersey location — at 569 Milltown Road in North Brunswick — with free Chicken on the ROX for the first 200 customers.

The signature dish features marinated chicken grilled over rice and topped with garlic sauce, tahini and sumac, according to a statement from the company.

The celebration will include food samples, music, cake and photo opportunities.

Shaheen Group Inc., the franchisee operating the location, selected North Brunswick for its diverse community and established food scene. The franchise group has family and friends in the area.

The restaurant chain traces its roots to 1998, when Sam Osmow emigrated from Egypt to Canada with his family. He brought a passion for Mediterranean cuisine and founded the brand.

Ben Osmow, CEO and head of franchise operations, said the company is expanding across North America.

The menu features shawarma plates and wraps, keto- and protein-friendly options, and customizable meals. Each dish is made fresh to order.
