Each year, some of the foremost pizza-making masters of Italy come together under the label ’50 Top Pizza’ to release global rankings of the best pizza places around the world!
Over the years, the ranking has evolved to feature several new standalone awards and even a variety of new lists, such as their top 50 ranking dedicated specifically to artisanal pizza chains.
Now, for the second year in a row, a small D.C.-based pizza chain by the name of Stellina Pizza has been ranked among the very best artisanal pizza chains in the entire world!
Where did Stellina Pizza rank among the 50 top artisanal pizza chains in the world?
This will actually be the second year in a row that Stellina Pizza was ranked among the best chains in the world!
Last year, the D.C.-based pizza chain managed to earn a spot on the rankings as the #40 artisanal pizza chain on the planet.
Since then, however, things seemed to have improved considerably, as Stellina Pizza managed to jump 16 spots in just one year to claim its spot as the new #24 best artisanal pizza chain in the world.

According to the judges’ reviews of Stellina Pizza, the success could not be attributed to one particular thing done perfectly, but rather a culmination of many things executed extraordinarily well!
The highlight of the menu is allegedly the simple Margherita, which they referred to as “essential, balanced, with a fragrant crust and a perfect ratio of sauce, mozzarella and basil.”
They also shared praise for Stellina’s ‘Caccio e Pepe’ pizza, noting that it successfully combined the spice of freshly cracked black pepper with the creaminess of high-quality Pecorino Romano, and the Caesar Salad, which they simply cited as “excellent”.
Aside from the food, several lines of the already concise review were dedicated to marveling at Stellina’s “extensive and entirely Italian, varied, and well-structured” wine list!
Given the attention drawn to the winelist in particular, it’s not a surprise to also learn that Stellina Pizza was also given the honor of being awarded the “Best Wine List Award” for 2025.
Called the ‘La Gioiosa Award’, Stellina Pizza’s wine list officially ranked the best in the world amongst all artisanal pizza chains!
