Traveling to Kyoto. Still dealing with the jet lag. Decided to buy some Wagyu and cook at my hotel kitchen and microwave rice while all the restaurants are still closed.
A bit more well done than I would liked (20 seconds flip, totaling around 80 seconds on medium high heat rice cooker pot lol). With how fatty it is, it still tasted amazing and fall apart tender.
Going to try again tmr, and hopefully get a better donensss.

Hnghhhhhh
Sorry but that bowl doesn’t look particularly appetizing. Try again at home. You have the right idea.
Overcooked. You know it is. But beautiful nonetheless 🙏🫡
Imagine bragging about eating expensive steak for breakfast, and then over cooking it. Rich people problems am I right.
Everyone is saying over cooked. Its is but prefer a5 medium +. Ive cooked it all sorts of styles and I just like it better at that temp
not bad 11 dollars
Oh boy you’re in for it now
Is that a raw egg
Wagyu is overly valued to me. Overcooking to compensate for just how disgustingly buttery it is is a net negative. No thanks. In Japan hida beef is miles better (to me)
Fuck, $17 CAD for that. 😔 A girl can dream.
I wouldnt cook on the hotel stuff.
This looks so good bruh. I’ve never had raw eggs so I definitely woulda boiled it hella soft but other than that, magnificent
美味, especially given the equipment on hand
This is without doubt one of the most sensitive subreddits on this entire website. You can’t post anything without at least half of the comment section losing their minds. “OVERCOOKED!!!!!!! NOOOOOO YOU CANT DO IT LIKE THAT ITS NOT HOW I WOULD DO IT!!!!🤬🤬🤬😭😭😭😭😭😫😫😩”
Mine was domestic, but I overcooked my first Wagyu to medium well and it was the best steak I ever had (better than Wagyu from same store cooked medium rare).

One of my fav dinners while I’m out here. Stop by the supermarket and get a piece of Wagyu for 10$, serve with rice and some gyoza
