A new restaurant & bar specializing in elevated Mediterranean dishes is opening its doors in Hamilton.
The Avro opens at 211 Locke Street South, taking over the spacious spot formerly occupied by Brown Dog Bootleg Café.
This new restaurant is a change of pace from the space’s predecessor, with a thoughtful menu of rangy Mediterranean comforts crafted by Chef Sandro Ventura, a former sous chef at Hamilton’s Aberdeen Tavern.
Expect share plates like caprese bites, fried calamari, lamb kofta, yellowfin tuna carpaccio, and pear & fennel salad as a lead-up to hearty main dishes including elevated chicken gyros, braised lamb shank, red lentil curry, octopus risotto, falafel plates, seafood pastas and more.
It’s a thoughtful menu that blends influences from multiple Mediterranean cuisines, and Hamilton foodies get to sink their teeth into it starting today – Saturday, December 6th – as The Avro hosts its grand opening!
