A Birmingham restaurant owner apologised to a diner and said ‘we completely dropped the ball’.

It came after the customer apparently waited 90 minutes for their food – the owner reiterated ‘there’s simply no excuse for the level of service you received’.

Located on Village Road in Sutton Coldfield, Olive Garden Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant serves traditional favourites of kebabs, baklava and mezzes.

On Google Reviews, Olive Garden Turkish & Mediterranean Restaurant has a 4.6 score out of five stars.

The customer identified as Louise said: “Visited here on a Saturday lunch time. Absolutely beautiful well prepared food.

“Me and my partner had the sharing grill platter for two, and for £45, it is well worth the money.”

A different diner identified as Emma added: “My husband and I visited here tonight on a whim.

“We live local and decided to give it a go. The food was incredible.”

And a different reviewer posted: “The food was lovely and the service was amazing.”

Despite the positive reviews, a recent guest was unsatisfied after they went through the ‘worst service ever’.

The reviewer said: “Worst service I have ever received in my life.

“Waited over an hour and half for our food in that time, people were coming after us and leaving before.

“Forgot to bring one off the main meals out and quite frankly wasn’t really bothered out the issues.

“And then tried to still put the meal on the total bill.”

The owner of Olive Garden responded: “I want to sincerely apologise for your terrible experience at our restaurant.

“After reviewing what happened during your visit, I can confirm that we completely dropped the ball with your service.

“The excessive wait time, forgetting one of your main meals, our staff’s apparent indifference to these issues, and then attempting to charge you for the forgotten meal are all completely unacceptable.

“There’s simply no excuse for the level of service you received, and I completely understand your frustration.

“This falls far below our standards, and we’ve addressed these failures with our team to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.”
