As someone who used to assemble these when I worked for a bigger pool company. If the egg was going to be in a nest like this we got the base in the nest properly before we assembled the rest of the grill. It needs to be lifted and turned so that the damper is to one side or the other. There’s not enough space between the two you have it on to go completely down because they’re hitting the damper

Pretty sure the cross bar at the bottom should be in the back. Assuming you assembled the nest correctly, rotate the egg 180 degrees. Then bend the arms a bit if needed to get it to rest lower

Your silver vent control/screen is supposed to be on the inside of the Egg 🤦‍♂️

You definitely need to rotate the EGG 90 degrees. 180 would make the same issue just on the other side. But can you double check to see if you accidentally have a medium nest? I’ve seen this happen before.

The egg isn’t even sitting down in the nest. Are you sure you have the right size nest for the egg?

Your nest is backwards but I think it’s also too small

I have mine in with the crossbar in the back and the vents clear the uprights fine on the front side once all the way down in the nest, even though the vent ends up partially behind the uprights.. Feed it into the nest while orienting the vent at the same time with the cross bar in the back. My vent opens left to right. I just pushed it down till it bottomed out. i did this carefully and with two people. Also, I had the lid off and the inner parts removed at the time.

Loosten the screws of the nest a little. Set the egg in properly. Retighten.

Is the Egg fully assembled? If not, put all of the inner components of the Egg in the base and it should sit in there properly.

Dead guess from pictures, but this looks like a medium nest with a large egg.

Maybe there is a serial number somewhere on the nest itself or the box for you to check? Could be a simple error from your retailer.

Not a big deal. Mine was 1/4 off, and has been for 5 years. I just happened to rotate it with the nest a couple weekends ago. I recommend having a helper, but it’s possible solo if you’re careful. Looks like you need to do a 180.

My BGE was quite top heavy with these stands. It’s seemed to be easy to tip over. I moved my BGE to a more stable stand. A metal stand that also was fire resistant

GUYS I FIGURED IT OUT, thanks to y’all’s help i loosened the screws, moved the cross bar to the back lift and pushed back down and it worked out perfectly

Yes, you did not assemble right. The crossbar should be in the back to support the weight when the dome is open. Oh, and push down in the egg until it seats all the way in the nest.

Looks like you assembled this thing in a carpeted area. You planning to smoke indoors ?
