So what is it about the Ribera del Duero region that produces such special wines? According to Yolanda García Viadero, a member of the Bodegas Valduero founding family, the key lies in a deep respect for nature.

Valduero vineyards are cultivated using traditional, eco-friendly methods. They are never irrigated, and no artificial fertilisers or chemicals are used in the process.

Instead, the winery relies on what the land is able to provide, depending only on natural yields, which ensure exceptional grape quality.

Viadero personally oversees a rigorous selection process, only choosing fruit from low-yield vines, where each plant concentrates its nutrients in just a couple of clusters. “These grapes are pure gold,” she says, and they help to highlight the exclusivity of a vintage like Una Cepa Premium.
