I'd heard about Comfortland's Thanksgiving sandwich last year, and resolved to try it this year, especially since they got a new LES location that's much closer to my Village ass. It seems I was in for egg rolls instead, which, hey, I'm all for the unconventional. Pleased to say that this was good enough to add to my annual indulgences. Turkey, sage stuffing, and sweet potato in an egg roll with cranberry sauce for dipping. Their website said that gravy was available, too, but that wasn't an option on the order kiosk, though I think cranberry was the better choice for a first try. Anyway, great stuff here. The filling was well-balanced, and if you don't overdip like I did on the first couple of bites, you can taste the herbs coming through, something that isn't always a guarantee with stuffing.
This lone egg roll was $8, but it was a sizable one, big enough for a snack or even a light meal (for me at least). I like having this option available as a change from the usual Thanksgiving sandwiches, which, other than Edith's version, tend to be massive. I'd say it was worth heading to the LES and giving them your business.
