Got this setup for xmas, yes we buy our own giftsπ, but having buyers remorse. Did I make a mistake not investing in the rfx?

not unless you are planning to do a lot of rotisserieing (not sure if that is a word). wireless just adds one more thing to go wrong.

I use these and they are fantastic. I haven’t tried rfx

I have the Signals. I like it quite a bit. But I recently upgraded to RFX and the Billows and it’s much, much better.
If you can I’d say return the Signals and get the RFX.

Havenβt used RFX, but love my Signals and Billows.
I donβt have a rotisserie, so no issues there for me. RFX could be useful if you do.

Signals has worked great for me. Billows is a pain to get going every cook.

I have never had an issue with my Signals
RavensFlyer
Never had an issue with either on my komado Joe. Made over night cooks a much easier process so meats go on at 8pm vs 4 am and are actually ready by the promised dinner time ( wife loves that).

Yes absolute game changer
Key_Blood3537
Yes yes yes, as a WSM owner.

What’s giving you buyers remorse? Thermoworks makes quality products, I personally use a fireboard with the fan and it works great, but I considered this combo myself.

I have a Smoke X4 and bought a Billows last year for a Weber Kamado I got. I already had a Spider Grills Venom on my regular kettle. I used the Billows three times then bought another Venom. The Venom is way better for me.

Both work great for me on a Pit Barrel

Have it, love it.
Getting rfx for Christmas.
We’ll see.

The Signals and RFX are both great, but each have their pros/cons.
Signals:
Pros * Stable, wired connections
Cons * Short battery life for longer cooks (best to keep the charging cable plugged in) * Wires can get messy and hard to manage
RFX:
Pros * Wireless probes! * Decent battery life of probes (if set to 1.5F increments)
Cons * Price * Tendancy to disconnect when using foil

The only way you will have buyers remorse is if you absolutely want the wireless probes. I havenβt used RFX but every BBQ friend I have uses signals as well as myself. I can say it is without a doubt the absolute best probe on the market sans the RFX. I also use the billows it is very simple to use and works extremely well in my barrels, Iβve never used it in my offset mainly because my lyfetyme burns at 250 regardless how my vent is set. the app works pretty good and it has Apple Watch support which I love.
All that being said I think Santa is bringing me the RFX four pack bundle for Christmas.
If you donβt already have one I would also pick up the thermapen one itβs the best instant read in the market and I personally think itβs worth every penny

I have one for my Oklahoma Joe. Itβs crazy accurate and really controls the fire. I had to build an adaptor to keep the fan from melting but i loved it. Truth be told, when the Joe rusted out, i bought a Reqtec pellet smoker and i love it more.

Canβt speak to rfx, but have enjoyed my signals for around 4-5 years. Went in for service once, a few probes replaced over the years. One of the slots no longer works.
I tried the billows on first few cooks and never used again. My wsm holds temps well, did take several cooks to get the feel for it.

I had a Signals, and it is amazing. Then my wife got me the RFX… It’s on another level. Gave my Signals to my BIL.

Theyβrrrrrrrrrrrrre Great!

I love my Billows + Signals for my WSM.
However I also have a weber kettle and I bought a rotisserie attachment later on, and so I purchased RFX so I can have a probe in whatever I’m rotisserizing.
If you have a rotisserie, that’d be the only reason I’d go RFX over the Signals.

I just use my wsm as is no mods and it works great. Thermometer looks good.

I’m sure these are great but for the price I’ll stick with my Smartfire thank you much.

Use Signals and Billows with my Old Country Gravity Fed smoker and it works flawlessly every time.
