FALAFEL

Ingredients

250 grams soaked chickpeas
1 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp cumin powder
ΒΌ tsp paprika powder
Β½ tbsp lemon juice
1 small onion, roughly chopped
4-5 garlic cloves
ΒΌ cup roughly chopped fresh coriander leaves
ΒΌ cup roughly chopped fresh parsley leaves
2 tbsps white sesame seeds
Oil to spray
Hummmus/ choice of dip to serve

Method

1. Transfer chickpeas in a food processor jar. Add salt, black pepper powder, cumin powder, paprika powder, lemon juice, onion, garlic, coriander and parsley and process into coarse mixture.
2. Transfer in a bowl, add sesame seeds and mix well. Cover and refrigerate for 30-40 minutes.
3. Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll into balls. Flatten each ball slightly.
4. Preheat the air fryer at 200Β°C for 2-3 minutes.
5. Spray some oil on air fryer basket and arrange the prepared falafels in a single layer.
6. Spray some more oil on top and air fry for 25 minutes.
7. Serve with hummus or choice of your dip.

  1. Hello chef, Falafel are automatically made with Fresh Fava beans,but chickpeas are better alternative as Fava beans are not available easily. Thanks
