My rescue Eastern Musk Turtle loves only certain brands of sardines. I only give her the ones packed in water. She won’t eat Wild Planet brand or Season Brand. She likes Bumblebee. She loves Chicken of the Sea and devours them.
I don’t have an explanation for this but she is consistent with it. I trust her instincts so now I also won’t eat the brands that Turtle dislikes.

That is actually the cutest thing I’ve ever heard, oh my gosh. I just adopted a cat recently and as a fellow sardine lover I just ordered him a pack of the dried cat treat ones to see what he thinks! Don’t think I’ll be sharing that pack with him, but I’m so happy that someone else wants to share their hobby with their pet like that! 🥰
