I first learned about the joy of Boursin cheese when I tried my husband’s grandmother’s scalloped potatoes recipe a few years ago at Thanksgiving. Since that revelation, it has become a staple on every cheese board I build and the flavorful secret to one of my favorite weeknight dinner recipes. So I’m always excited when I come across a new way to use those foil-wrapped, hockey puck-shaped delights.

Recently at a football party, my friend brought out a platter with some sort of spread covered in chopped pistachios. I love pistachios, so I grabbed a cracker and dug in. “Oh my gosh, what is this?” I asked her. “Oh it’s just Boursin, pistachios, and hot honey!” she exclaimed. “So easy.” My mind was blown. The simple three-ingredient combo made the perfect blend of herby, cheesy, savory, sweet, creamy, and crunchy.
Not only were the flavors shockingly elevated, but the presentation was really pretty, too. My friend came across this no-recipe recipe on TikTok and decided to try it out, and it looks like it was originally inspired by Pinch of Yum. She simply spread the garlic-and-herb flavored Boursin in a thin layer on her serving tray, topped it with chopped pistachios, and drizzled it with hot honey. The garlic-and-herb Boursin gave it a savory zing, but any Boursin variety would work for this. You can buy pre-packaged hot honey at the store or make your own if you’re feeling fancy. Serve it with whichever crackers are sitting in your pantry right now, and you have a dish that will win at any tailgate or potluck. If you want to amp up the color and flavor of this dish, you can try the Southern Living version that swaps hot honey for pepper jelly—yum, y’all.

It looked beautiful as-is, but we even talked about how cute it would be to form the cheese into the shape of a Christmas tree for holiday parties, too. Even though this no-effort snack takes mere minutes to throw together, it was a hit with our crowd, and my friend’s plate looked like it had been licked clean. I’m a sucker for a no-cook appetizer that takes few ingredients, and I will absolutely be copying this one throughout the holiday season.
