  1. Check out Wild Fork Foods. They have wet aged butts @1.98 every day.

  2. Ugh, I really don’t like the rub they put on them. It’s like annatto heavy or something.

This is a quality item, great price, great taste!

My costco can not keep them in stocks, they say there not sure if they will continue to get them.

I got one on Saturday, $1.49 lb and smoked it Sunday. Really good flavor but not a chili spice but good flavor.

Plopped it out of the bag at 6am into a foil pan with 1 cup of chicken stock. On the smoker at 6:15 at 275 with a smoke tube going as well. I didnt get a real stall but hit 170° about 12:30 and foil wrapped the pan to finish at 198°. Rested covered in towels on the counter for an hour and then feast at 2:30 of shreaded tacos.

I get that these have a wet brine. Are they salty? Are you able to pat them dry and add a rub before smoking or is that ill advised?

That’s good! The grocery store here had a sale on pork butts .99 a lb so I paid $8 and it was $20! Doesn’t happen as often as I would like! But gotta take advantage of it

Just bought the same at my Costco, but it was 1.49 a lb. You got ripped off bud! /s

Fuck that’s my Costco, you grabbed em all!

Good snag. This is about as good an item you can get that’s mass produced.

Sure your super secret marinade is better but this requires none of that work.

Pop it in the slow cooker with a yellow onion and a couple cloves of garlic and you have deliciousness in a few hours.

I keep seeing these on here, everyone is all excited about em, but then ya never hear how they really are. Do they taste like chillies? All a gimmick? Lots of fuss over the idea, but not much interesting info afterwards.

I got an extra one to freeze too. How long do you guys think it will have to thaw out to smoke? 8 lbs ish

How is the seasoning on those? I’ve been tempted but my wife gets over spiced easily

I slow cooked one of those overnight a few weeks ago on a bed of shallots, served it over rice. Fantastic flavor, would buy again

Treated this like a pork version of birria and it was amazing

Damn I need to buy one this weekend maybe I’ll go tomorrow, so people like you don’t take mine 😂

I’m gonna make burnt end with this

  17. I got one of those, but didn’t smoke it. I put it with a container of salsa verde and some hatch chile salsa (also from Costco) into a cast iron dutch oven and just let it go on low all day long and then made tacos with it and froze the rest. It’s pretty awesome.

Lol Swift pork shoulder at my Winco was $0.98/lb last weekend. Costco is wild with that markup.

Smoke it to 200*, best carnitas ever

I wonder if they have them at the business centers San Marcos
