I don’t like 5 guys, they are overly greasy, the buns get soggy, the produce is inferior to in n out, and they are extremely overpriced.

Felt the same way when I moved here. Didn’t understand what the big deal was AT ALL. But after a year or two I realized it is the most consistent good quality fast food burger there is. Now I love it. Definitely not a destination meal if you’re visiting from out of town though.

IMO, animal style is gross and totally ruined my first and only trip there years ago. If I ever return I will not be taking my Uncles advice, and won’t be getting animal style anything.

Kind of just looks like you overdid it with the sauce and stuff. I didnt like in n out much the first time I tried it either and I ordered something very similar to your picture. I recommend trying it again sometime in the future but just get a simple burger and normal fries. Maybe with a chocolate shake. I think their classic stuff is best personally especially when you’re having it for the first time

Native Californian here, I’ve always maintained that In-N-Out is high quality and CONSISTENT, but you can get better burgers elsewhere. But you can always count on In-N-Out looking exactly like the advertisements, and they’re pretty affordable.

Imo try jack in the box or Hardee’s. If you have a decent local one you might be surprised.
