The Italian Cultural Institute is holding “Rice, Truffle And Sparkling Wine – Taste Of Italy”, an exhibition to experience the soul of Italian cuisine, at the Exhibition Gallery, 3rd floor of Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathumwan intersection, from Dec 16-28.
Held in collaboration with the Italian embassy and the Italian Trade Agency, this special event is dedicated to celebrating the history, craftsmanship and rich tradition of three cornerstone ingredients of Italian identity.
It will offer an immersive journey into Italy’s living cultural heritage, currently nominated for the Unesco Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The exhibition showcases how human ingenuity, hard work and creativity have transformed three humble gifts of the earth — rice, truffle and sparkling wine — into a universal language of emotion and culture.
The three elements form a singular narrative — that of a country which has made taste an art form, a language of identity and a bridge between territories, eras and communities.
Visitors will learn the story of rice that represents the deep connection between Italians and their land. From the rice paddies of the North to tables across the country, it tells a tale of transforming nature into culture.
Then, enter the realm of the rare, precious and fiercely fragrant truffle that encapsulates the magic of time and the patience of the search. The powerful aroma of this hidden treasure is a symbol of an intimate dialogue with the earth, sharing knowledge, emotion and collective memory around every single bite.
Also, learn why Italian sparkling wine is a metaphor of shared happiness, sophistication and Italian excellence that spans centuries of craft and artistry.
