  1. Following, because that looks delicious and it says freezer to oven. I cooked a thawed turkey breast in our slow cooker for Thanksgiving and it turned out wonderfully, but if I can do it from frozen, that would be amazing

I do a 6lb bone-in turkey breast every year, and they taste great. I can’t imagine boneless would be any different. I rub the breast with onion soup mix under and over the skin. Then cook on high for one hour, then cook on low for 6 hours. For a 3lb, do high for an hour, then 3 hours on low.

I let these thaw in the refrigerator overnight, never tried frozen. Makes for good eatin’. I pull mine and put it on buns with some slaw or kraut.

I like them, but I thaw them and then let them sit in water in the fridge overnight before I cook them to get some of the salt out. They are super salty if you don’t.

It’s already seasoned so I would put in on high and watch it. Maybe start with a little broth and add more if needed.

I would probably add a little less water at the start of the cooking process, and account for the defrosting by adding 1-2 hours of cooking time.

That is, if you intend to cook it in a slow cooker

Works great in a souse vide water bath. Set it up Thanksgiving morning and let it cook for several hours until we were ready to eat. If it is frozen, give it an extra hour. I took out the gravy packet and removed the net and vacuum sealed it with some rosemary.

It cooks to perfection but doesn’t look that great so you can sear the outside either before or after cooking.

I did mine from frozen at Thanksgiving and it was so good! I mixed onion soup mixed and cranberry sauce and poured that over the frozen bird in the slow cooker on low for about 5 hours

  9. I didn’t know this existed. Looks like a perfect easy crock pot dish.

Crockpot on high 8hrs – came out moist and tender

Yeah I have. Threw in with a little water and a bouillon cube or two. Came out great

I made one in the crock pot and suggest the low setting. I also put half a stick of butter in there to help keeping it from getting dry. It’s decent but not my favorite.

Butterball has a hotline during Thanksgiving-Christmas where you can talk to a real person about any cooking issue with any Turkey not just theres

I let mine thaw in the fridge. I cooked it like a Mississippi pot roast and it turned out great. I worried it might be to lean so I added half a stick of butter.

I’ve only cooked from frozen when the package specifically states it can be cooked that was and offers directions. I used to buy Jenny-o turkey breasts packaged in a cooking bag. Those always tired out great! Just my experience.

Good lord – do not slow cook anything that is frozen, but especially do not do it with a 3 pound chunk of meat. Major food safety issue there as it will sit in the danger zone for hours and hours.

Freezer to oven works because it’s a much higher temperature and cooks faster.

Besides – there’s absolutely no benefit to slow cooking a turkey breast. It’s basically zero fat.

Either use the oven or let it thaw in the fridge for a day or two.

I’ve been purchasing these turkey breasts for Thanksgiving for years now. You can easily cook from frozen. Just follow the directions. Using The Meater is also super helpful. It’s very juicy and tender each time. You can also make ahead (from frozen), slice, fan out in glass casserole dish, pour over a flavorful broth, and store in fridge until ready to eat. All you do then is cover with foil and bake at 325* until 165* internal temp. Never fails and is never dry. I’m looking forward to trying one of these new seasoned turkeys too!

  18. Never done it from frozen. But I’ve thrown it in a pot and let cold water drip from the faucet for like an hour til it was pretty close to thawed then smoked it. Came out delicious with minimal effort.

I learned to only cook from frozen in a regular oven, never in a slow cooker as the inner temperature of the frozen food stays at the danger temperature too long and can lead to foodbourne illness.

Yes. I ball up a wad of tinfoil and put under it with carrots, celery and onion. This holds it out of the juices, which keeps it as a more solid piece of meat (suitable for carving). The steam keeps it moist. If you want more of a pulled consistency, skip that step.

Instant pot. Cook from frozen. Perfect every time

write a will. Slow cooking frozen poultry is an ideal breeding ground for salmonella

Put it is a water bath and it should thaw Ina few hours. Fill your sink with cold water and let it sit for awhile, but you gotta check it now and then to make sure it’s done and sitting for too long.

These things are clutch. I got the savory herb one, didn’t care much for their seasoning blend. So next time I think I’ll just get plain and do it up myself.

  25. RuralRedhead

I thawed mine and put it in the slow cooker, it was good! I made a butter and herb rub for it.

I defrosted it in the fridge a few days and cooked it in my air fryer. Tasty.
