As the final season at Highmark Stadium is coming to an end, construction continues on the New Highmark Stadium. At this point, it feels like we’re hearing of new things that are being added to the stadium every single day. They’re not just happening inside the stadium, but now, outside as well.
New Highmark Stadium will have outdoor markets for guests
You’ve heard of the upgrades inside the stadium like the canopy, the new speaker system and how every seat feels closer to the action. But just recently we found out that there are going to be upgrades outside of the stadium too, including a new spot for NFTA busses to pick up and drop off guests, and new outdoor markets for food options outside of the stadium.
Buffalo Business First is reporting that New York State has signed off on some revisions to the Bills stadium project.
Here are the changes that they approved:The northeastern and northwestern entries at the new Highmark Stadium will add two 1,600-square-foot exterior markets. These will offer food and beverage operations on game days.NFTA shuttle busses will have a new drop-off and pick-up area next to the new stadium. The 30,000-square-foot administration building, which was set to be demolished, will now be staying. After completion, the county will turn over the entire stadium to the state stadium corporation. An 8.16-acre parcel at 5330 Big Tree Road will be transferred to the state stadium corporation, then it will be leased back to the Bills as part of the stadium lease.
Crews are feverishly working to make sure the stadium is ready to be opened for the new season in the fall. They’ve got a goal of having it ready by summer.
