First time ever trying Chili Crisp. Nice change of pace from hot sauce. This might become a new addiction.
I also heard it pairs well with sweet stuff, like ice cream. I don't have any at hand, but got chocolate pudding and smacked some on it. I'm seriously shocked, that it doesn't taste like absolute dogshit.

I like to mix it in with my eggs before cooking when making an omelette.

Can anyone recommend some tasty brands?

I really like chili crisp, but it is NOT low calorie. Ta should be a “duh” moment but I originally did not put it together. I slather my foods with hot sauce and do not care about the calories normally, but just a friendly reminder 🙂
2 TBSP of Lao Gan Ma is 210 calories. I can easily add 2-4 TBSP, so it’s a large caloric increase 🙂

Chili crisp is yummy. I drain the oil and eat the peppers. Have tried different brands but they’re mostly Chinese, so I can’t name them, but they seem consistent. For me, more warm hot than scorching. Two spoonfuls is about right.

No, I put them in food I cook and on food I eat.

At the risk of shilling, try NPG’s Sichuan one. If you like Sichuan pepper heat it’s really, really good.
Also I switched off of Lao Gan Ma for Guiz. It’s more expensive but hotter and more flavorful, so you don’t have to use as much.
