Three reasons why red wine poach pears with whipped mascar pony should be on your dessert menu this year. One, it’s minimal effort to prep. You just have to peel them and the simmering will take care of the rest. Two, it’s the perfect dessert for a large crowd. It’s impossible to mess up the quantities because one pair equals one serving. And to free up some time, you can make it ahead of time. And three, it’s a showstopper dessert that is just as delicious as it looks.

Looks good. Pears are so nice for desserts. A great ripe pear is one of the best fruits too. Underrated I think.
I had it once. I thought and still think that it doesn't sound or look good, but it was delicious. Never had it again. I probably should.
