Nino prepares the Saltfish for his dish….you must boil the codfish to extract some of the salt.

Here guys, I’ve got my salted cod here which comes to us from the east coast of Canada and it’s got a bone end. So what I’ve done is I soak this overnight in some hot water. Allow the skin to remove be removed from the the sawfish itself. The next morning after soaking it for a whole night, I boil it in some water. What I would have to do is you’d have to boil it, throw the water off, boil it a couple of times. This way you extract a lot of the salt off of there. Once it reaches to a texture that is palatable, you start taking it apart. And this is what you end up with. And this is the sawfish that you’re going to be mixing with your aki

  1. I brought two cans of ackee but i can’t have the salt fish because i have high blood pressure. Could I substitute it with shrimp? Blessings to you and family.
