I’ve had my machine for almost a month, and could not for the life of me pull a good shot. I would crash out every time I wanted to make a latte and I was over it. I said f it and switched to the dual wall basket. Ofc the shot quality wasn’t great but it was pulling.
I read a lot through this sub and decided I was going to try again. My inner burr is at 2 and outer is at 10. I just made the best latte I think I’ve ever had in my life. My husband said he can taste a big difference too.
Anyway, just had to share with people who’s understand.

Hell yeah woo
Huge win congrats!!
Feels so good when it finally comes together
Love to hear that! Such a good feeling for real
Congrats 🥳

Is the dual wall basket better? Family got a new Breville touch and would love to know how to pull the best shots I can on it!
Have fun dude! I’ve got a bambino
Congrats!!!
I just got this machine as well and probably pulled 20 shots before I got it dialed in😭my setup looks almost identical to. We just got the normcore tamp and we’re about to get a new coffee whisk or whatever it’s called
Welcome to the party 🎉
I’m trying to decide too. Why did you choose this over bambino?
I’ve been making espresso for years I just move back from Miami so it’s a staple for me. I just wanted something simple since I grind my own bean. So I bought myself a Breville Bambino. I use Lavazza Super Creama of bean, which I found has to be ground extra fine. It is the best shot I’ve had. The crema is perfecto. I mostly drink it straight with a little bit of sugar very rarely do I add any milk. So those who say that that breville Bambinos are starting machine that’s fine I just want a good poor every time I go for a shot. Now I can
I am coming up on 6 years with this machine. I upgraded to an external df64 pro grinder after about 4 years. The internal grinder seemed to be stable for a month or two at a time, then needed to be taken out, cleaned, and recalibrated. The top dial works with the internal one. You might need to adjust the internal one to get it to grind fine enough. The group head gasket might need to be replaced in a few years. Easy. I also had to tighten about 4 (of 5) screws around the group head area after about 4 years. I was able to drill holes through the external plastic to avoid taking the machine apart.
Just got the same machine, yay! Searching the web for tips on great espresso along with fun foam art.
I bought one for my self as a Christmas gift to my it is wonderful
An idea is to set the inner burr so that when you turn the main grind settings to zero you “just” hear metal on metal: this is known as burr “chirp”. When you’ve done this you’ve zeroed your grinder. Now you have the full range of expresso grind sizes. I’ve had two sage grinders and one needed this to really use at all as it wouldn’t grind finely enough, the other was chirping at about “5” before I reset it.
It’s not the machine giving you the problem it’s the inferior built in grinder. Once you switch to a proper stand alone conical or flat burr grinder you will have consistent quality espresso. Don’t ask me how i know.
