Tell your child that they are not allowed to have grilled cheese because it is adult food and not for babies. Reverse psychology should do the trick.

I am struggling to understand why you would expend effort in an endeavour that only promises you personally *less* grilled cheese per/shopping trip
edit to add: in a stroke of slight maturity, I realized what legacy actually means. You do eat less grilled cheese for the rest of your life so that your child will eat them for life, and then their child eats them for life, and so-forth your clan becomes known as the Cheeseheads
