Yeah it’s not bad. Right around what we charge.

Edit: I take it back, that’s a good price. We’re a couple dollars more per pound

Huge chunk of fat and steatosis, I wouldnt have bought this one. Not a good deal.

The upper right muscle looks denver-ish. The rest of it looks like a hard road to go, I’d cut up the chunks, throw it into the SV for 24 hours, maybe even as much as 36, and make some kick ass stew

Excellent for burgers, once you mince it. And then you can even have med rare burgers.

Nope. 5.29 a lb at most. Atleast where I buy.

Yo it’s almost 2026 time to use the metric system and catch up with the rest of the world.

Chuck roast was $5.99/lb at Ralph’s (Kroger) last week in SoCal.

For your location I bet it is a good deal where I am at in PA I get that kind of cut for about 4.50 a lb

I have never, on my 62 years, ever heard of a beef chuck fillet

That’s what I use to make pot roast.

I don’t live in NYC, but I live in a fairly expensive suburb, and I usually pay $4-5/lb on sale.

It’s great slow braised in with beef stock snd red wine.

Not a good cut of meat or a deal but food is food I passed up a ribeye fo $27 (not a good deal) for 2 pieces of what you got. I still grilled it and I was fed. A good cut of meat is now a luxury you got to buy them when they’re on sale and freeze it.

  12. Bad deal.

Not a good meat type or price for it.

It also looks like you have one muscle with steatosis, which will be even tougher to eat.

    Very bad deal.

Good deal. Best for braising or grinding though.

  14. Thats a roast, someone cut it like a steak. It’s too small. You’ll never get that connective tissue broken down without burning it to char. Cut it into cubes and make a slow cooker stew

I usually pay $6.99 to $7.99 per pound for chuck roast.

I saw it at $8.99 last week and I passed.

Separate the Denver and the chuck eye and you have yourself 2 damn delicious steaks

Choice ribeye regularly goes on sale for the same price or less, so no
