I made a cheese ring with strawberry preserves. Anyone else here grow up eating this very southern festive appetizer?

I've never met anyone outside my family that grew up eating this, but I know that it's something that came from the south, like Georgia.

It's usually made with cheddar cheese and mayonnaise, but I use Nuts for Cheese in chipotle cheddar and JUST mayo.

It's chopped pecans, cheddar cheese, shredded onion, mayo, and cayenne pepper or hot sauce, shaped into a ring with strawberry preserves in the middle, and you serve it with ritz crackers.
