I was grilling the other day and one of the four bolts that sit in my old style hinges just snapped in half. It’s an older egg, probably from around 2000. Only problem now is it’s quite hard to find hardware for the old style bands/hinges online. Anyone have any idea where to find stuff for the older bands? The bolt has a shaft before the threaded part that sits in the hinge and allows it to open and close.

BGE has a lifetime warranty. I would start calling them. Even if it is an older style they should have a fix.

I’d give HQ in Atlanta a call. They might have some spare parts.

I would take one of the other bolts out and figure out the thread pitch. It looks like a shoulder bolt. You can probably find an identical bolt on amazon or McMaster carr.

  4. You could check McMaster-Carr .com Look for Steel Hex Drive Shoulder Screws in the Screws/Shoulder Screws section.

People who had the older bands speak highly of the newer ones, once upgraded. Might be worth considering, for the longer term.

It may be hard to find. But if you can find the right thread of screw then just put a sleeve on it

Success! I was able to find a comparable shoulder bolt at Lowe’s. Thanks everyone!
