To me this looks like an eyeball with eyelashes. I can see a #2 right above it but I’ve never seen this marking before. What is it??

I dont know if it’s a camera glare or if the jar is supposed to be like that – but i feel like that jar has a manufacturing defect. It almost looks like a bubble in the glass under the “2” and the seam along the bottom doesn’t look like commercial glass jars.
Do you have other jars to compare to this one? Are they modern canning jars?

Glass defect. I wouldn’t use this for pressure canning and maybe not for water bath. Should be fine for dry goods. It’s just not worth the risk of the food waste if the defect could cause the glass to shatter
