A recall has been issued on cheese products sold at Aldi that may contain metal fragments.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a Class II recall of Happy Farms by Aldi Italian Style Shredded Cheese and Happy Farms by Aldi Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese due to potential metal fragments in raw materials from the suppliers.
A Class II recall means the products may cause temporary or reversible health issues, according to the FDA.
Great Lakes Cheese Co Inc. initiated the voluntary recall on Oct. 3.
The recall affects the following Aldi products:
Happy Farms by Aldi Italian Style Shredded Cheese: 1,900 cases; UPC – 4061463330949Happy Farms by Aldi Shredded Low-Moisture Part-Skim Mozzarella Cheese: UPC code – 4061463330864 & 4061463369413; Batch/Sell by date: 1500560016 (2/8/2026), 1500562694 (2/14/2026), 0008915062 (2/18/2026), 0008921597 (2/21/2026)
The impacted cheese products were distributed in 31 states and regions: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The FDA has not released specific recommendations for consumers who have purchased these products.
