The Black Marriage Movement organization is having a Christmas Soul Food-Food Drive Saturday at Laneys Collision Center located on 916 E Hillsboro.

This event will begin at 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m..

Black Marriage Movement is an organization that was founded by Paula and Gary Aaron. The couple emphasized the goal of their organization is to highlight black love and showcase healthy black marriages that are in the community.

“My wife had a vision on how she can get some couples together that’s like minded,” said Gary. “Also, breaking the stigma of black marriages not working.”

Gary explained Saturday’s event.

“We will have drive through food giveaway,” he said. “It’s for anyone — just drive up and get you some good food. We’re trying to give back to the community, because the community has been so good to us. They helped with our Bliss Ball, and we decided this year we wanted to give back to what they given us.”

Gary said this is the time of year where people often struggle and if people can pour money into their organizations, the least they can do is feed the community.

“It will be the traditional soul food plate prepared for everybody to come out and get,” Gary said.
