Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards has released its much-anticipated state-by-state rankings of the top wine lists, just in time for the festive season. The announcement gives tourists and locals expert guidance on where to find the best wine lists across the country, with South Australia having impressive venues in its Top 10 lineup.

For South Australians and visitors to the state, the curated list highlights diverse and unique wine offerings. Among the venues recognised, 2KW Bar & Restaurant and Chianti both continue to impress with their extensive and carefully selected wine lists. Newer entrants like A Prayer for the Wild at Heart are making bold impressions, thanks to their innovative approach and commitment to showcasing a wide array of wines.

The list also includes Coal Cellar, Crafers Hotel, and Hardy’s Verandah, each providing distinct atmospheres coupled with their impressive wine selections. Mother Vine and Restaurant Botanic are recognised for their focus on quality and service, offering patrons a premium wine-drinking experience.

McLaren Vale’s The Salopian Inn was crowned as having the Best Wine List in South Australia, while the Stirling Hotel rounds out the list with a list that pleases both casual drinkers and connoisseurs.

These rankings are derived from the prestigious 2025 Australia’s Wine List of the Year Awards, where Melbourne venue Circl won the national top spot for its excellent array of wines. The judging panel included over 35 industry professionals from Australia and globally, comprising Master Sommeliers, Masters of Wine, respected wine writers, commentators, judges, and past award winners. Their combined expertise ensures that the awarded venues truly represent the best of the best in the Australian wine scene.
