My Nanny taught me this 40 or so years ago and I made it once again today. It has a sugar-cookie sweetness that is the best.

I’ve never heard of it, but it looks good! Is it difficult to make?

My grandmother would make this pie completely from scratch. But, I make it using ready to bake pie dough baked on a flat cookie sheet and cooled so I can slide them off. And then I prepare cook and serve pudding mix of any flavor and let it cool. Then I assemble by sliding the first cooled crust onto a serving plate. Then top the crust with the cooled pudding. Then slide the second cooled crust on top. Then finally I prepare a powdered sugar and milk icing to spread over the top.

“French pie” is compelling me to make “dad jokes”…I’m trying to fight it…made of French people, food for making out, travesties of that ilk..the horror!

Some slices of fruit or a thin layer of fruit jelly on top there 🤤

I’d believe it if you said you took a picture of a Wayne Thiebaud painting

  7. Reminds me a lot of torta della nonna but without the pine nuts!

It kind of reminds me of a *crepe* or a *galette*.

Is that cheese in the middle? custard?

It’s basically a mille-feuille vibe, just without the stacked layers.

This is kind of like a DIY moon pie but better, I’m gonna have to try making this
