I am sitting on both of these bottles. Wondering which, if either, should be opened anytime soon.
The Burgundy on the left I purchased a few years ago at a wine shop I worked at.
The Bordeaux on the right I purchased on sale at Safeway a few weeks ago.
Looking for thoughts – more info on the one on the right and suggestions for how long these baddies should age for. Thanks!

Open burg this weekend. Open bdx this weekend next year. Cheers
Can’t speak for the bordeaux but I had that burgundy about a year ago and it was great and near peak. I would maybe give it two more years at most but definitely good to enjoy now – especially since it’s a village level, not 1er
Right now brother. I love Santenay and Drouhin makes great stuff across the board. 2018 is a rich and ripe vintage that is probably better now than latter at the village level. Saint Emilion is usually a crowd pleaser and it’s probably drinking well right now, though I’ve never had that producer.
Not before lunch.
I’m just watching and waiting for somebody to scream infanticide and to wait until at least 2187 🤣😂
Some 2019 Bordeaux’s are still in their early drinking window, but some have already shut down. I would hold onto the Bordeaux for at least a year or two if not longer, but if you want to drink it now just be sure to decant and give it plenty of air.
Decant
I’d drink both now. Based on preliminary research neither of those wines score particularly high even in great vintages, so I wouldn’t expect them to improve much with additional age, plus they’re both in suggested drinking windows from both the producer themselves and the reviews I found. (Obligatory yes I know scores are flawed but they are a tool meant for research like this)
