So continuing on my Japanese wine selection process.
I had the pleasure of tasting this Pinot Noir from Vinoble Vineyards, and before you say the name is dumb, as I did. It actually is pronounced as Vin-noble vineyards. SO no it doesnt mean Vineyard Vineyard.
Aromas: Light tobacco, cherry, raspberry. Pretty straightforward.
Palette: Light tannins, lively acidity, and cherry.
It is a well structured wine, and very well made, though it does miss something in my opinion. But since i have been trying hundreds of Japanese wines at this point, I have to say this is one of the best Pinot Noirs I have tasted.
A little bit about the winery:
VV was created about 5 years ago in Hiroshima, which is a pretty humid and warm part of Japan. The winemaker and owner, used to work in vineyard nurseries so he really know how to take care of the vines on his estate. This is very much key to the quality of wine coming out of the winery. As the ends of summer in Southern Japan tend to be pretty Typhoony there is a whole other layer to taking care of vines in the part of the country.
If you are interested in Japanese wines, this is one I would put on my list. I find it is a great example of the quality of wines that are coming out of some wineries now.

Whoa, this was the first thing that popped up when I opened Reddit and after looking at your username I realized I just walked by your store this afternoon. Staying in the area for the month and will be sure to stop by and have some vino.
