In September 2025, the Russian market recorded a significant increase in wine imports from Spain. During the month, the volume of Spanish wine brought into the country reached 916.3 tons, marking the highest figure in the past twelve months. Compared to August, when imports stood at 829 tons, this represented an 11% rise. The previous peak was observed in October of last year, when the volume hit 977 tons.

Among European countries, Italy remains the leader in wine exports to Russia. In September, Italian producers raised their shipments by almost 20%, bringing the total to 5,700 tons. Latvia also posted strong growth, with exports rising by a third to 2,400 tons. As a result, Latvia surpassed Poland, which, on the contrary, reduced its shipments by 1.6 times—to 1,700 tons.

Germany recorded the most notable increase among major suppliers. Over the month, the volume of German wine sent to Russia doubled, reaching 1,150 tons. Portugal also contributed to the overall growth: its exports rose by 17%, totaling 1,400 tons.

Overall, the combined import of wine from European Union countries to Russia in September rose from 12,700 to 14,000 tons. This growth is attributed to the more active role of several European exporters, who boosted shipments amid steady demand for European wine in the Russian market.
