CAVA, a Mediterranean-style fast-casual restaurant chain, is now open in Jacksonville.

The restaurant opened its doors Thursday at 1375 Western Blvd. and will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. with everything from bowls and pitas to dips and dressings available.

“Our mission is to bring heart, health and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that spirit of generosity, to our guests, our team members and our community,” said Marc Backer, regional director for CAVA.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be in Jacksonville and continue to grow our presence in the area.”

With every new CAVA opening, the company invites its new neighbors for a free meal, accepting donations to support a local cause and matching those donations up to $1,000.

Since 2019, CAVA has raised more than $600,000 in donations, mostly targeted at improving food security in local communities, said Emma Vogt, brand communications manager for CAVA.

The Jacksonville CAVA is raising funds for the Salvation Army of Jones and Onslow counties.

The new restaurant plans to hire 25 to 40 local employees.
